Sometimes I like using people in my images to show you the scale of what you’re looking at. At Humpback Rocks, on the Blue Ridge Parkway I saw this guy who climbed up the 2 mile trail STRAIGHT up this mountain — just so he could get a cell phone signal?
I am guessing he has Cricket Wireless or some burner phone from Walmart!
I spent MY afternoon enjoying the view! You can see for 50 miles from the top of these rocks, and it’s great excitement for someone who’s scared of heights and the light was great for using fast shutter speeds due to my hands shaking the whole time I climbed around on these rocks!
I ended up taking a spill on the way down because the trail is so steep. But don’t worry. Old people and little kids had no real problems getting to the top and back. It’s about as tourist friendly as you can expect in a national forest.
